Clinical Case Study
Case Highlight: Lateral Window Sinus Lift & Implant Rehabilitation (Tooth #14)
Insufficient bone height in the posterior maxilla is a common limitation for dental implant placement, often due to natural sinus anatomy and long-term tooth loss. Without adequate bone volume, implant stability and long-term success can be compromised.
In this case, the patient presented with reduced vertical bone height in the upper left posterior region, making implant placement at site #14 unsuitable without prior augmentation. Advanced imaging confirmed the proximity of the maxillary sinus and the need for a staged surgical approach.
To restore the foundation for implant placement, a left maxillary lateral window sinus lift was performed. This technique allowed for controlled elevation of the sinus membrane and precise placement of bone graft material, increasing available bone volume while preserving surrounding anatomy.
Following adequate healing and bone maturation, implant placement at site #14 was completed with improved structural support and optimal positioning. Post-operative imaging demonstrated successful bone regeneration and stable integration of the implant within the augmented site.
This case highlights the importance of comprehensive diagnosis, careful surgical planning, and evidence-based regenerative techniques when restoring function in anatomically complex areas.
Healthy outcomes begin with a stable foundation — and precision at every step.
